Rabat,
the royal capital.

The seat of the Kingdom. Embassies, gardens, a twelfth-century Kasbah above the ocean. Quiet, formal, deeply Moroccan.

The city, in a breath

The Royal Capital.

Rabat is where the Kingdom governs itself. Embassies, ministries, the royal residence — and, around them, one of the most agreeable Moroccan cities to walk. Clean, green, coastal, and almost entirely missed by the tourist circuit.

The old Kasbah des Oudayas — a twelfth-century citadel above the Bouregreg estuary — is the Kingdom's most refined small medina. White-and-blue walls, Andalusian gardens, a café on the ramparts where the Atlantic opens.

We compose Rabat as a one-to-two-day interlude, usually paired with Tangier or Casablanca. For clients with diplomatic or governmental interests, longer stays are arranged through our Maison office on Avenue Mohammed V.
